Some had these stickers on them showing the original price as $10.99.
They contain larger scissors and these little scissors in the mending kit inside. My daughter wants to add extra needles -- she says needles are easy to loose and their thread will be useless without them. I
have some from my mom's sewing stuff I'll be able to add to some.
They come in a variety of colors and the scissors and tape measures inside match. I think it might be fun to mix them up! Blue scissors in the pink case with a yellow tape measure.
I thought a fat quarter or more of fabric folded up and tucked inside would be nice. So I added the leftover fabric from the apron that will be in the box with it. UPDATE: Sarah has done a post since this one that talks about Enhancing Sewing Kits & How Much Fabric to Add to an Operation Christmas Child Shoebox. She has taken over the 10 to 14 year old girl boxes and has had a ball adding goodies to these sewing kits.
Do you add shoebox packing supplies to your Christmas wish list? What's the funnest shoe box find you have come across?
If you'd like to see more of our shoebox stockpile purchases, each Saturday Sarah shares our additions to our stockpile. You can see them all here: Shoebox Stockpile Saturday ~ Adding to Our Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Stockpile.
WOW! That's awesomely, wowly incredible! Nice score, Daughter of Simply Shoeboxes!
ReplyDeleteI thought so, too, Suzanne! :-) I was especially thrilled they had the tape measures and both large and small scissors.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the name of the dollar store where your daughter found them? I hope I can find some in my area!
ReplyDeleteAmy, it is in such a limited area, that is why I didn't mention it. It is Mighty Dollar (in SC, NC & KY). http://mightydollar.org/
