Shoebox Stockpile Saturday ~ 4/29/2017
It's been another slow Operation Christmas Child shoebox week. This week has been more focused on ministering to my grandmother who is under Hospice in our home, than working on shoeboxes. Kind of makes me think of James 1:27 "Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." (NASB) Right now, we're called to focus on the widow. On my way to choir practice I did drive past a Dollar General, and ran in for 5 minutes and was able to get a few cute stuffed animals on clearance for 30 cents each!
Spent from shoebox packing budget: $1.92

You have your priorities right and God will bless you for caring for your grandma. As for Dollar General's sale, I also got leftover stuffed Easter bunnies & 6 paddle balls for 30 cents each. In their 2 day extra 50% off clearance sale, our store had lots of stretchy gloves in bundles of 4 which I snatched up for a mere quarter per bundle; 7 plain pullover knit hats for 15 cents ea. (not fancy but will keep heads warm!) Also found 3 pr darling boots for small girls reg. $10 for 1 buck, 4 girls thermal tops (reg $10) for $1, and a boy's thin thermal top & pants set ($12.50) for $1. It's the best clearance sale I've ever found for the shoe box kids.
Thank you!
Those do sound like great deals!! Don't you just love getting great deals?
